Folding Mattresses for Guest Rooms and Small Spaces

Folding mattresses are a practical way to add occasional sleeping space without keeping a permanent guest bed in the room. They can be folded into compact chair or cube shapes for everyday use, then opened out when an extra place to sleep or relax is needed.

This makes them a useful choice for spare rooms, children's bedrooms, playrooms, home offices and other spaces where furniture needs to work harder. Our range includes single and double folding mattresses as well as compact mattress cubes.

Chair, Lounger and Bed in One

A folding chair bed can be used as low everyday seating before unfolding into a flat mattress when required. Single models work well where floor space is limited, while wider double chair beds provide more room for lounging or occasional overnight use.

The padded folding sections are designed to stack neatly when the product is being used as a chair, making these mattresses easier to store than a conventional spare bed. For other relaxed seating options, browse our bean bag beds and loungers.

Choosing the Right Folding Mattress

When choosing a folding mattress, compare the folded and unfolded dimensions with the space where it will be used. Single chair beds are easier to position in compact rooms, while double models provide a wider sleeping or lounging surface. Mattress cubes are another useful option where you want occasional seating that can unfold into a longer mattress.

Most of the range is designed for indoor use, and individual products may have different covers, dimensions and care instructions. Many models feature polyester covers and wipe-clean or removable-cover designs. Check the individual product page for the exact specification before ordering. Folding mattresses are supplied ready to use and selected models are available with free nationwide delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a folding mattress?

A folding mattress is made from padded sections that fold together for compact storage or seating and unfold to create a flat mattress. Depending on the model, it may fold into a chair, sofa-style seat or cube.

Can folding mattresses be used as guest beds?

Yes. Folding chair beds and mattress cubes are designed as practical occasional sleeping surfaces for guests. Check the unfolded dimensions of the individual model to make sure it provides enough room for the intended user.

What is the difference between a single and double chair bed?

Single chair beds are narrower and better suited to compact rooms, while double chair beds unfold into a wider sleeping or lounging surface. Always compare the folded and unfolded measurements before choosing.

Are folding mattresses suitable for children and adults?

Selected folding chair beds are suitable for both adults and children. Suitability depends on the model and its dimensions, so check the individual product information before ordering.

Is delivery free on folding mattresses?

All of our folding mattresses and chair beds in the range are available with free nationwide delivery in Ireland.
