A Garden Grown by Community
Some places leave a lasting impression long after you've visited them. Julianstown Village Garden is one of those places.
What is now a thriving, award-winning community garden was once a derelict three-acre site. Since 2004, volunteers from Julianstown Tidy Towns have worked tirelessly to transform the space into something truly special, a place where nature flourishes, wildlife is welcomed, and the community can come together and enjoy the outdoors.

Today, the garden is filled with life. An orchard, woodland area, flowerbeds, soft fruit bushes, herbs, a pond, and scattered seating create a peaceful environment that encourages people to slow down and appreciate the beauty around them. Throughout the garden, plants chosen for pollinators and biodiversity help support bees, butterflies, and other important wildlife, making it as valuable for nature as it is for visitors.

The space has become much more than a garden. It is a place for families to spend time together, for children to explore and learn, and for local schools to use as an outdoor classroom and storytelling area. Everywhere you look, you can see the care and thought that has gone into creating a welcoming environment for everyone.
Recently, members of our marketing team had the opportunity to visit the garden and meet Niamh and Aisling, who, along with a dedicated team of volunteers, have poured so much love, energy, and commitment into bringing the space to life. Hearing about the garden's journey and seeing first-hand what has been achieved was genuinely inspiring.

We were proud to play a small part in the garden's continuing story by working with the team to install one of our Zeus outdoor structures. With exciting plans for the future, the addition provides a sheltered space where visitors can sit, relax, meet, and enjoy the surroundings whatever the weather.

What stood out most during our visit wasn't the structure itself, but the incredible sense of community that exists throughout the garden. Every path, flowerbed, tree, and seating area reflects the dedication of volunteers who have given their time to create something that benefits both people and nature.

At OutdoorLiving.ie, we believe that outdoor living is the best living. Spaces like Julianstown Village Garden remind us why. It's a place where people can connect with nature, spend time together, learn, relax, and simply enjoy being outdoors. The passion, care, and community spirit behind this garden are reflected in every corner of the space, and it's exactly why we loved being involved in this project.
Thank you to Niamh, Aisling, and all of the volunteers for allowing us to play a small part in its story. We can't wait to see how this remarkable garden continues to grow and inspire in the years ahead.
