Smoked to perfection at Grill Fest 2024
After weeks of planning and preparation Grill Fest finally arrived at OutdoorLiving.ie on May Bank Holiday Monday. A day like no other, our Glen of the Downs showroom showcased live demos and food tasting across the day. Kicked off by partners in crime Pat Conway & Jim O'Brien from Smokin Soul, the Wexford lads arrived early to get the hot coals going and kept the crowd fuelled throughout the day with their hearty banter about all things smokin. Think spatchcock chicken, pork ribs and Alabama chicken wings galore.
King of Bread and the face of Firehouse Bakery and Bread School Patrick Ryan baked his way across the afternoon with his incisive demos about all things bread on the BBQ and pizza oven. Naan, pitta, pizza. The hungry crowd flocked as Patrick offered bite size tasters of his flavoursome bakes. We were stuffed!
Jess Kelly aka Girl.on.the.Block arrived fresh from The Village Butcher Ranelagh to show her unique flair and passion for butchery. Her skills were well and truly put to the test as she sawed and sliced to provide charismatic Ballymaloe alumni Joe Savage with some mean cuts to grill on our very own Celtic Kamado. Picanhas, rump and some hot and spicy jalapeno sausages were on the menu. It's true what they say. There's no show like a Joe show! Both Jess and Joe had the BBQ enthusiasts captivated with lots of questions and answers from the intimate onlookers.
The OutdoorLiving.ie showroom was stuffed to the brim as we enjoyed what was a very casual and informative afternoon filled with a lot of laughs, a lot of food tasting and lots and lots of top tips for both the BBQ novice and BBQ afficionado.
